Family and friends of Sile + James descended on the rock off the west coast of Ireland for one of the liveliest weddings we’ve ever been to. Inis Oirr is the smallest of the Aran Islands, and it’s guarded by Dusty the Dolphin.
Ceol, caint agus craic all weekend long.
The 30 minute ferry from Doolin will bring you back in time, astounding views in all directions. Sheer cliff faces, sandy beaches and ancient ruins.
Time seems to have stayed still on the island. Trad music sessions spark out of nowhere and locals share stories with strangers. It’s a picture perfect postcard for Ireland and Irish culture.
We felt like guests at the wedding and wish we could have stayed a few more days.
If you’re thinking of having a wedding in an interesting location, you can’t find a more stunningly beautiful surrounding than Inis Oirr, Aran Islands.
